AC Milan: Many fans want Sandro Tonali to replace Lucas Biglia

AC Milan are looking to sign Eric Dier or Sandro Tonali from Tottenham Hotspur and Brescia respectively in the summer, if Lucas Biglia is let go, as reported by SempreMilan.

There has been an indication from Calciomercato News that the Argentinian could be set to leave the club, as his contract will be coming to an end and he is among the highest earners at the club.

With this in mind, SempreMilan have come up with two suggestions of who they think could sign:

They have included Dier, after previously claiming that a swap deal for the England international, which would see Franck Kessie move the opposite way, could be a possibility.

The other option is Tonali, whom Calciomercato claim Milan have made a move for in the past, with the indication being that they could go back in for the 19-year-old.

Many Milan fans have made it clear who they want to see coming into the club and that man is Tonali, with the general feeling being that he has better quality, more potential and a greater affinity with AC Milan.

Real Madrid’s future looks set with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the team

[ad_pod ]

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Opinion series, which provides analysis, insight and opinion on any issue within the beautiful game, from Paul Pogba’s haircuts to League Two relegation battles…

And just like that, Real Madrid are seemingly out of their early crisis and heading towards the top.

In fact, at this particular point in time, Los Blancos are finally first in the La Liga table, leaving the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid behind them in the dust.

Of course, these are still early days and the table is bound to go through various changes before the end of the campaign. But it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Zinedine Zidane is finally getting his whole squad on the same page.

The latest clash with Osasuna, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Galacticos, proved as much.

But it proved one other thing as well – the future looks bright and a touvh Brazilian.

Both Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo found their names on the scoresheet on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu as the Whites cruised to a rather comfortable and impressive victory over Osasuna.

Seeing how both players are still very young, Vinicius being 19 and Rodrygo 18 years of age respectively, this was definitely a great sign for all Madridistas.

Two of their young talents stepped up in the absence of the more experienced veterans who were being rested, with the likes of Gareth Bale out of the squad and Karim Benzema on the bench, and completely stole the show in front of the home crowd.

Needless to say, that’s exactly what every manager wants to see.

Of course, it has to be noted, however, that this was indeed Rodrygo’s debut in the 2019/20 La Liga campaign and he only got to play for 20 minutes, coming off the bench in the 70th minute.

Vinicius, on the other hand, has been struggling to regain his best form ever since his injury last season. Since then, he’s been in and out of the team and delivering on a very inconsistent basis.

Both players will, therefore, need some time to get back into the groove and find their footing but there’s still no escaping the feeling that their potential, should it be reached here at the Spanish capital, is enormous.

Zidane has two extraordinary talents in his squad and even though they may not be among the best at this very moment, the early signs are pointing towards that happening in the not so distant future.

And that is a beautiful thing for Real Madrid and the revolution the media has been calling for throughout the whole summer.

Liverpool should deploy electric midfield vs Red Bull Salzburg

Liverpool will expect to grab three points when they welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Anfield on Wednesday night, so could we see a more attacking set-up from Jurgen Klopp?

With all due respect to Genk, Salzburg will get their first real test when they visit Merseyside on Wednesday.

The Austrian outfit score plenty of goals – 40 in nine league games this season to be exact – but they also rarely keep clean sheets, preserving the shutout just three times in those games, against what could fairly be called weak opposition.

For that reason, we believe Klopp may stray away from his usual workhorse midfield, looking to capitalise on a team who are not used to defending against the type of quality the European champions possess. The XI below has three changes from Saturday’s win.

The back four pretty much picks itself, but after Paul Joyce confirmed Joel Matip will miss out, we expect Joe Gomez to be the man to fill that gap.

In midfield, Fabinho has become practically un-droppable this season, starting all but one league fixture, as well as the match in Naples.

Things may change after that though, and tonight seems like the perfect time to throw Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into the mix. The pair have both suffered with various injuries over the last 18 months, but if they aren’t able to fill in for skipper Jordan Henderson and the ever-reliable Georginio Wijnaldum against a side from the Austrian Bundesliga, then they never will be.

While they may not afford the Reds the type of defensive protection the likes of Henderson, Wijnaldum and James Milner would, they may just have a field day against a group of defenders used to playing sides like Hartberg and Swarovski Tirol, not the kings of Europe.

Given how Origi completely transformed the game at Bramall Lane from the left wing, Klopp could reward the Belgian here with a start. However, that cameo may also tempt the boss to see him simply as a super-sub, and stick with his usual front three.

Mohamed Salah will surely keep his place again with Xherdan Shaqiri still not fit enough to give the Egyptian a rest, while benching Sadio Mane against his former club would be criminal, as who doesn’t love a goal against their old team?

Arsenal fans react to Alexis Sanchez’s impending loan move to Internazionale

[ad_pod ]

What has happened to Alexis Sanchez?

During his time at Arsenal, he was one of the best players in the Premier League, scoring 80 goals in 166 games for the north London outfit. Whilst the wages may have been high at Manchester United, it certainly seemed like a good deal for the Red Devils when he signed for them, especially considering they didn’t pay a transfer fee and simply sent Henrikh Mkhitaryan the other way.

Fast forward 20 months, though, and it looks like a shocking bit of business. In 45 games, the Chile international has scored just five times and he is yet to feature for the club this term.

AFTV’s Robbie has his say on Arsenal’s owners in the video below…

It now looks like his nightmare at Old Trafford is about to come to an end, at least in the short term. It is being reported that the 30-year-old is close to a loan move to Internazionale.

As a former star for their club, Gunners fans have been quick to react to the development, and they have shared their thoughts on Twitter. You can see some of the best comments below.

Man City fans hail Kevin De Bruyne after wonder showing against Scotland

[ad_pod ]

Talk about making up for lost time. Kevin De Bruyne’s numerous injury problems last season robbed him of a total of 29 games as Manchester City retained their Premier League title pretty much without him.

The 28-year-old has started off the current campaign like a house on fire though, with one goal and five assists in four league games, and has taken that form into his international duty with Belgium.

The former Chelsea man produced a midfield masterclass against Scotland, registering a hat-trick of assists and finding the back of the net too.

It was the kind of display that reminded everyone just how good De Bruyne is, and the performance saw City fans understandably flood to Twitter to hail their star.

Many fans of the Manchester side insisted he is simply the “best” midfielder in the world, and revealed he is “Ballon d’Or worthy”.

Some supporters admitted they couldn’t believe how good the 28-year-old is, and stated that he is “genuinely unreal”.

Newcastle want to extend Rondon loan deal before the transfer window slams shut

[ad_pod ]According to The Telegraph’s north-east sports reporter Luke Edwards via his official Twitter account on Thursday, Newcastle United are hoping to extend striker Salomon Rondon’s loan deal beyond the end of this season before the transfer deadline.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the Magpies have already enjoyed a busy final day of the window havingcompleted deals for Miguel Almiron and Antonio Barecca, but it appears as though Rafa Benitez isn’t finished there if Luke Edwards is to be believed.

According to The Telegraph’s live transfer blog (11:53am), Edwards says that the Toon Army’s mystery striker target is in fact a player they already have on their books until the summer, in West Bromwich Albion’s Rondon.

However, the sports reporter suggests that they will give Jacob Murphy to the Baggies on loan if the Baggies agree to loan the 29-year-old to them for another campaign, rather than pay the £15m they west Midlands outfit would want if they were to sell him this month.

Would it be good for Newcastle to extend the deal?

It certainly would be.

Rondon is probably never going to be a 20-goal-a-season striker at Premier League level, he has six goals in 18 Premier League appearances this term as per Transfermarkt, but he offers far more than just being able to find the back of the net for his team.

The Venezuela international is strong, decent in the air and has shown that he can score if given decent service, as he did during his side’s massive 2-1 win against Manchester City at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.

There is no doubt that keeping the 29-year-old beyond the summer would be massive for Newcastle, even if it does mean that they have to sacrifice Murphy now.

The only people more shocked by Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Man City than City fans were the Magpies fans themsleves! Check out their brilliant reactions in the video below…

Manchester City fans react as Aymeric Laporte finally earns France call-up

[ad_pod ]

Manchester City fans rejoice! Aymeric Laporte may finally be set to earn his first senior cap for France. And about time too.

The 25-year-old has failed to make a Les Bleus squad since making the bench for the side’s 2-0 defeat to Spain back in March 2017.

Now, this personal boost for the City ace is quite unexpected, as the centre-back even suggested the previous lack of international recognition could be put down to a personal vendetta against him from France manager Didier Deschamps.

Speaking back in December, he said, as quoted by The Manchester Evening News: “Of course I don’t think it’s because of a sporting issue, you’d have to ask him personally. I don’t have anything personal against him, but if someone has a problem it’s him and not me.

“I could be a world champion… but these are the decisions of the coach, who is not calling me for, I think, personal reasons, and I have to respect him.”

After hearing the news of Laporte being called up for the upcoming EURO 2020 qualifiers, City fans flooded to Twitter to voice their reaction to the matter.

Many admitted the call-up is “long overdue” and were relieved his performances at City are finally being rewarded.

Some supporters of the Manchester side revealed their shock at Laporte’s ‘exile’ finally being ended and insisted they couldn’t believe their eyes.

Romano reveals development on MUFC target

Manchester United have not made any moves in the transfer window so far, but with three weeks left the club has been linked with a number of players, especially in the defensive midfield position.

However, there has been an update on one particular target.

What’s the word?

Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter, that there have been no further developments on Manchester United’s pursuit for Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder, Denis Zakaria.

Romano tweeted on Monday:

“Manchester United have made no bid for Denis Zakaria as things stand. The option has been discussed as he’s appreciated by Rangnick – but there’s still no official bid to Borussia.

“More than four clubs are already working to sign Zakaria as free agent in July. Open race.”

United are reportedly joined by a number of clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, including Premier League clubs, Everton, Leicester and Arsenal, and if the Italian transfer insider’s tweet is to be believed, the chase for his signature remains wide open.

Fans will be gutted

Signing a defensive midfielder has been a long term prospect, especially in the eyes of the fans who have been crying out for in the side for over a year, so they will surely be gutted that no progress has been made on signing the Swiss target.

Taking to social media after a number of poor defensive performances from the Red Devils this season so far, citing how desperately the position needs to be filled, with one Man United fan tweeting:

“2 years ago we looked doomed at end of January after losing at home to Burnley. We signed Bruno, had a great run towards the end of the season and finished 3rd. Something similar needs to happen, but with a defensive midfielder if we’re to save this season.”

Zakaria has been impressive in his position for Gladbach, scoring two goals and bagging one assist for the Bundesliga side so far this season, with a 50% successful tackle rate. Meanwhile, he has completed 702 of his 777 passes successfully during his 14 appearances according to infogol.

All hope is not lost though, as Romano did hint in the aforementioned post that Rangnick has shown interest in the player and is “appreciated” by the German coach. Thus, it will likely not be the last time we see a connection made between the Switzerland international and the Manchester club, however, another club could swoop for the popular defensive midfielder if progress isn’t made soon.

The freshly appointed manager has a lot of work to do to get Manchester United into shape, but with an FA Cup win against Aston Villa on Monday evening, it will have given the fans a much needed boost after a disappointing performance in their last Premier League game against Wolves, when they lost at Old Trafford last week.

Rangers fans flock to Defoe comments

Many Glasgow Rangers fans have been flocking to some comments which have emerged from Jermain Defoe.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the striker was talking about how he left club earlier this week and suggested that he wanted to stay and continue playing for them. He confessed: “Even at the age of 39 I still wanted to be involved. Towards the end it was affecting me, I was taking it home and I was a little bit down…”

Defoe was a wonderful servant to Rangers during his time at Ibrox, scoring 32 goals and supplying a further 10 assists in 76 games over all competitions across the last four seasons (title last term.

However, he has now left the Light Blues, and if he wants to continue playing football, he will have to find another club as a free agent. Nonetheless, many Gers supporters seemed moved by his admission.

These Rangers fans flocked to the striker’s comments as they were shared on Twitter, with one going as far as to claim that Defoe is a ‘phenomenal’ person:

Spurs interested in Gianluca Scamacca

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Gianluca Scamacca to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report by Italian media outlet CalcioMercato.it (via Sport Witness), who claim that the Sassuolo centre-forward is viewed by Spurs as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic.

The report goes on to state that Fabio Paratici’s “excellent relations” with the 22-year-old’s agents should “not be underestimated” in Tottenham’s pursuit of the Italy international – who Sassuolo are reported to be open to parting with January should they receive an offer greater than the £21.5m they were demanding for the striker this summer.

Forget Vlahovic

While it is undeniable that Vlahovic would be a fantastic signing for Spurs to get over the line in the January transfer window, the fact that Fiorentina are reported to be commanding a £68m fee in order to part with the centre-forward could well see Spurs priced out of a move for the 18-goal 21-year-old this winter.

As such, considering how much potential Scamacca quite clearly possesses, in addition to the forward’s considerably lower asking price, it could well be a wise move for Spurs to forget about Vlahovic and instead turn their attention towards the Sassuolo starlet.

Indeed, over his 18 Serie A appearances this season – only nine of which have come as starts – the £13m-rated man has scored six goals and created one big chance for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.8 shots and making 0.4 key passes per game.

These returns have seen the 6 foot 5 striker who Davide Ballardini compared to a young Christian Vieri average a SofaScore match of 6.85, ranking him as Sassuolo’s ninth-best performer in the top flight of Italian football.

As such, while the 22-year-old dubbed a “complete” player by Luigi Di Biagio would appear to be less of a finished article than Vlahovic, the Italian is someone who nevertheless possesses the ability to become a world-class player under the management of Antonio Conte.

That leads us to believe Paratici should forget about spending nearly £70m on the Serbia international next month, and instead splash less than half that amount on the Sassuolo striker.

In other news: Conte should brutally axe £27m-rated “freak” who must never play for Spurs again
